d'load 1986 - "Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland" - [JS Bach - BWV 659]
This G minor organ solo always started the 19:30h Service : I started playing at 19:25h.
Taking 4mins 56secs, this allowed the Choir to process in from half-way through, the final members and Peter Underwood [Director] taking their places about 10 seconds before the final bar of the Chorale Prelude.
Ending in G major, the final note therefore set the key for the Treble solo which follows.
The correct pitch was found, thanks to the musical talent of the various soloists year after year.
